The closing ceremony of Riyadh Season, “Laila, the Land of Imagination”, which was staged yesterday evening at King Fahad International Stadium, saw a large attendance making it the best closing for Riyadh Season. To communicate the message of the Season, the ceremony started with a story told from the perspective of a young girl named Laila, representing the Saudi vision and dream. The first part, “Laila and the Dream”, performed by the little Saudi girl Norah Al-Obaid, tells the audience about the main character Laila. The second part “the Earth” illustrates the shape of old Saudi Arabia, its components and the essence of the Bedouin life. The other parts of the ceremony unfold with a special meaning and message for each one communicated via paintings, poems and its main characters. The parts comprised the Water part, the World Gateway, Saudi Arabia in Different Shapes, Imagine the Future and finally the Land of Imagination, which combined all characters whom Laila throughout the first parts, drawing together the final picture of Riyadh Season. This work was accomplished by a team of 293 people of 41 nationalities including Saudis. The show also featured 488 performers. Special music and videos were produced exclusively for the show. It should be mentioned that “Riyadh Stadiums” area was the place where Riyadh Season events started on October 11, 2019, when the South Korean boy band BTS staged its concert at King Fahad International Stadium, which was heavily attended just as was the ceremony “Laila, the Land of Imagination” that concluded the events of Riyadh Season.
