GEA launches entertainment programs, concerts during Eid taking COVID-19 precautions
Under the direction of Chairman of the General Entertainment Authority (GEA) HE Turki bin Abdul Mohsen Al-Sheikh, GEA launched an entertainment program on the occasion of the Blessed Eid Al-Fitr, comprising many unique events and concerts taking all precautionary measures against the COVID-19 pandemic.
The events started on the second Eid day (May, 25th) at 22:00 Saudi Arabia time with a live card magic show from the USA via Enjoy Saudi platform at https://enjoy.sa/ar/ featuring Shin Lim.
Among the programs GEA presented this Eid was“Made at Home” which went live starting from 28 May 2020 on MBC channel at 22:00 Saudi Arabia time. It is a social entertainment program where participants compete for a cash prize by sending videos of skills or works they started during the curfew at the decision of four celebrity judges from the Arab World.
The audience also watched “Who is It?” program, an entertainment game show hosting many Arab celebrities in disguise where competitors, virtually hosted, had to discover the star’s identity whose face was masked as soon as possible and using a limited number of questions. The program was aired on 28 May 2020 at 21:30.
The second Eid day also saw four concerts featuring a group of leading Arab stars under the title “Celebrating Eid Together”. It was aired live via Shahid VIP website at 22:00 Saudi Arabia time.
The concerts started on Monday, 25 May 2020, with Majid Al-Muhandis; on Tuesday, May 26th, with “The Artist of Arabs” Mohammed Abdu; on Wednesday, May 27th, with Rashed Al-Majed; and concluding with the Lebanese singer Najwa Karam on Thursday, May, 28th.
