The General Entertainment Authority (GEA) has launched the third edition of the “Entertainment Activities Accelerator,” continuing its efforts to promote entrepreneurship and advance the entertainment sector in the Kingdom, in alignment with the objectives of Saudi Vision 2030. The accelerator aims to provide the necessary support and resources to enable businesses to launch innovative projects, attract investments, and contribute to economic sustainability and growth. It creates an ideal environment that brings together startups, investors, and industry experts, fostering innovation and collaboration within the sector. The initiative focuses on several key pillars, including inspiring entrepreneurs, driving innovation in the entertainment industry, and facilitating connections between entrepreneurs and investors to accelerate the flow of investments into the sector. It also offers tailored programs to support startups and enhance their chances of success. The program will develop 32 startups in its current edition over two cohorts, with each cohort consisting of 16 startups and running for three months. Participants will undergo 192 hours of consultations and mentoring, in addition to two international trips to explore global markets and experiences. The program also provides a co-working space to support the entrepreneurial environment. GEA anticipates that the accelerator will help develop startups within 10 months, boosting growth and innovation opportunities in the entertainment sector and advancing the Kingdom’s goals of economic diversification and positioning Saudi Arabia as a regional entertainment hub.
