Alalshikh announces workshops to develop Saudi musical talents

His Excellency Advisor Turki Alalshikh, Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Saudi General Entertainment Authority (GEA), has announced the launch of workshops to develop young Saudi music talents, as part of the GEA’s initiatives in collaboration with the international Merwas Studios and under the sponsorship of the Music Commission, with the participation of prominent professionals in the music industry in the Arab world.

Alalshikh further explained that the workshops will accept talented individuals who have a serious desire to develop their skills under the guidance of professionals in music distribution, musical instrument, sound engineering, and leading music bands. He added that the registration process and schedules will be announced soon, expressing his gratitude to all the sponsors, including the Music Commission, Merwas Studios, Saudi Airlines, and Thib’s Auto.

The musical instruments included in the workshops are oud, org, violin, flute, piano, drums, guitar, qanun, and cello. The workshops also include training courses in sound engineering, musical rhythms, music distribution, as well as learning to lead a music band as a “maestro.”

Prominent musicians who will participate in training the talents in the workshops on the oud instrument include Mamdouh Al-Jabal on the oud, Islam El-Qasabgi, Aref Ghamen, Khaled Mohamed Ali, and Hisham Essam. On the violin, there will be Hassan Sharara, Mohamed Sorour, and Mohamed Sayed. On the qanun, tere will be Majed Sorour, Mudhni Abadi, Ayteche, and Emad Zaraa. On the percussion, there will be Said Al-Artist, Hisham Al-Arabi, Ayadi, Boumoza, Ahmed Al-Enooh, Al-Talhi, and Mohamed Bouraish. On the org, there will be Mamdouh Saif, Abdulrahman Bahmidin, Mahmoud Badeer, Rafat, Yasser Bouali, and Ahmed Al-Naggar. On the flute, there will be Reda Badeer, Mohamed Foda, and Nabil Barjous. On the guitar, there will be Mustafa Aslan, Rocket, and Wahid Mamdouh. On the drums, there will be Bob Percussion. On the cello, there will be Emad Ashour. On the piano, there will be Eman Shaker.

The workshops also include a group of trainers in music distribution, namely Walid Fayad, Cyrus, Adnan Abdullah, Khaled Az, Essam Al-Sharaiti, and Hisham Al-Sakran. In sound engineering, there will be Jassem, Amir Mahrous, Mohamed Saqer, Amr Hashem, Majid Dashti, and Yahya Mahdi. In leading music bands as a “maestro”, there will be Amir Abdulmajid, Walid Fayad, Hani Farhat, Medhat Khamees, and Tamer Faydhi.
