Two new zones, Souq Al-Awleen and Dunes of Arabia, were inaugurated this evening as part of Riyadh Season 2024, offering unique experiences that blend heritage and entertainment.
Souq Al-Awleen, one of the free-entry zones returning in a refreshed format this year, showcases Saudi heritage through musical and folkloric performances and traditional crafts. Visitors can explore the art of weaving and pottery making while participating in interactive platforms such as Sadu weaving and traditional cooking experiences. The zone also features Sufrat Al-Deerah, a dedicated area serving the finest local dishes.
Designed as a family-friendly destination, the market includes activities inspired by heritage for children, creating an ideal environment for families while supporting local artisans and craftsmen. Located in the Al-Aradh Square near the Eastern Ring Road, it provides a vibrant cultural hub for all ages.
In Dunes of Arabia, located in Al-Tuwaiq, north of Riyadh, visitors are transported into the heart of the desert. The zone offers exclusive experiences like camel and horseback riding, quad biking across the dunes, and educational and recreational activities for children. Guests can enjoy luxurious camping and starlit evenings featuring live musical performances, creating a blend of authenticity and modernity for an extraordinary seasonal experience.
This zone also includes a dedicated adventure center for thrill-seekers, offering safe and secure activities with the highest safety standards. From exploring the majestic sand dunes on horseback or quad bikes to embracing Arabian culture through camel rides, Dunes of Arabia provides a one-of-a-kind destination in this year’s Riyadh Season.
