Over the course of three nights, “Sha’biat Al-Boulevard” brought folk music enthusiasts together in Boulevard City, one of the main zones of Riyadh Season. The event, held across the Abu Bakr Salem Theater and the Music Zone, celebrated the rich heritage of Saudi and regional folk traditions, drawing a large and enthusiastic crowd.
The festivities began on Thursday with Samri Night, where attendees swayed to the rhythmic rows and traditional verses of this beloved Saudi folk genre. The evening resonated with pride as audiences celebrated the cultural heritage that forms a vital part of the Kingdom’s identity.
On the second night, Hadhrami Night took center stage, featuring performances by prominent artists of this distinct Yemeni-rooted musical tradition. The evening was highlighted by performances from Aseel Abu Bakr, Bahraini artist Mohammed Al-Bakri, and Kuwaiti singers Musaad Al-Balushi and Khaled Al-Mulla. Backed by lively folk ensembles, their soulful melodies created an electrifying atmosphere for the packed audience.
