Riyadh Zoo Visitors Have Fun with Intelligent Pongo Monkeys and Baby Kangaroos

Dec 23, 2022

Visitors to Riyadh Zoo, one of the zones of Riyadh Season 2022, have unique experiences with animals brought from different parts of the world.
The zoo allows visitors to have fun by feeding the monkeys and getting a close look at their social habits, funny graceful movements and sharp intelligence.
The experience becomes more exciting with a visit to the orangutan in its home, known as the pongo, a type of monkey that was recently discovered on the Indonesian island of Sumatra, and is characterized by its extreme intelligence, the length of its arms, and its human-like behavior. It is a very rare and endangered animal, as there are only 800 pongo monkeys left.
Fun experiences continue with the kangaroos. Visitors enjoy watching Kangaroos jumping around, getting close to them, feeding them, and observing joeys hiding in their mother’s pouches. A newborn kangaroo remains in its mother’s pouch from birth until it reaches the age of about 4.5 to 5 months, after which it goes out to explore the vast world.
The fun becomes complete with a visit to the tallest animals in the world, giraffes, which receive visitors, especially children, hoping that they will offer them some food. Giraffes approach visitors and lower their heads to reach their hands to eat the food they are offered. Through this experience, visitors discover the true color of the giraffe’s tongue, which is more than 50 centimeters long and is distinguished by a different color than the tongues of most creatures.
Playful animal lovers can take part in these experiences by booking via the link:

The season also presents 8 international shows and 108 interactive experiences. Its entertainment zones also host 240 stores, 252 restaurants and cafes, firework displays throughout the season, as well as a WWE show and an international football match.
