Fifty contestants from 28 countries from 4 continents qualified for the finals of the Quran and International Adhan Competition “Otr Elkalam,” after passing the

online stages that started on January 4. The contestants will complete their final competitions before the jury in the Saudi capital, Riyadh, during the holy month of Ramadan. The show will be broadcast on MBC and the Shahid digital platform.
The qualification of the contestants to the finals of Otr Elkalam comes after they contested online in competitions that witnessed the participation of more than 50,000 contestants from 165 countries in reciting the Holy Quran and adhan (raising the call to prayer for Muslims) with the sweetest and most beautiful voices from all over the world.
The competition aims to shed light on the best voices in reciting the Holy Quran and adhan and benefit the contestants and viewers alike with the precise observations of the jury specialized in the sciences of the Quran, intonation and maqamat (music structures).
The competition, which has become part of Ramadan TV shows, introduces the world to the tolerance and moderation of Islam and the different cultures of the Islamic world and their different ways of reciting the Quran and raising the call to prayer. The competition also highlights the beauty of maqamat, honors the best contestants in Quran recitation and adhan and celebrates the distinguished talents in their fields.
