Performances of the play “Dulab Ummi” (My Mother’s Wardrobe) concluded yesterday, Friday, December 16, at Bakr Al-Sheddi Theater in Boulevard Riyadh City, one of Riyadh Season zones. The play was very popular and the audience interacted with its social comedy events.
The play, starring the Saudi comedian Abdullah Al-Sadhan, revolves around the character of Abdul-Razek, the miser who marries, after the death of his first wife, an Egyptian woman who looks after his children from his first wife. The events focus on the man’s extreme stinginess towards his children and wife, to the point that he gets muscle strain whenever his wife or one of his children requests something from him!
The events develop in their comic form when Abdel-Razek finds a magic ring in his mother’s wardrobe after all his family members abandoned him because of his stinginess. He discovers that the ring is inhabited by a Genie who takes him back to his ancestors to find out the reason for their inherited stinginess.
Then Abdel-Razek turns into the opposite, and his extreme stinginess becomes an unbridled generosity that makes him waste his money and wealth on everyone around him.
The play included beautiful songs and artistic performances that were admired by the audience.
