The General Entertainment Authority (GEA) recently organized a workshop on intellectual property in the entertainment sector. The workshop discussed intellectual fields related to the sector to spread awareness and build advanced entertainment based on the latest international standards.
The workshop, which was held in cooperation with the Saudi Authority for Intellectual Property, discussed defining the concept of ownership and its importance in the entertainment sector, in addition to identifying the intellectual rights related to the entertainment sector, including copyrights, related rights, trademarks, and patents.
The workshop also discussed the importance of registering intellectual property rights for the products and activities of GEA, granting them protection documents and enforcing them, providing information related to intellectual property rights, and making them available to workers in the entertainment sector.
Through the workshop, GEA aims to enable a vital intellectual property system in the sector and to maximize the value of intellectual property and excellence in services by integrating with partners to provide distinguished entertainment services that are compatible with the progress witnessed by the Kingdom in various fields.
