During the first half of 2023, the General Entertainment Authority (GEA) carried out more than 10,000 inspection visits, including field visits and continuous digital monitoring. The visits resulted in recording 3,206 violations in more than 80 cities and governorates, as part of the ongoing monitoring of activities and entertainment sectors under the GEA supervision.
The largest number of violations were recorded in Riyadh Province with 30%, followed by Makkah Province with 27%, the Eastern Province with 26%, and 17% in other provinces. In monitoring the violations, GEA relied primarily on field visits, then on digital monitoring.
By expanding the scope of oversight work in the entertainment sector, GEA aims to enrich visitors’ experiences and raise the level of institutional maturity, thereby increasing the efficiency and quality of the entertainment options offered to beneficiaries.
By monitoring violations of the sector, GEA is developing a series of reports aimed at assessing recreational activities and their content, developing existing requirements and controls, and studying best practices for recreational and supportive activities.
The monitoring of violations helps GEA develop a set of reports aimed at evaluating entertainment activities and their content, developing existing requirements and controls, and studying best practices for entertainment and support activities.
