The General Entertainment Authority (GEA), represented by the Internal Audit Department, has received a certificate of compliance with the highest rating of “Generally Conforms” with the International Standards for the Professional Practice of Internal Auditing, which is the highest level of certification within the External Quality Assessment (EQA) program for compliance with the International Professional Practices Framework (IPPF). This makes the Authority one of the first government entities to receive this certification.
The assessment was conducted by the Saudi Institute of Internal Auditors, a specialized professional entity affiliated with the Institute of Internal Auditors, and included aspects such as ethical principles of the profession, basic principles of internal auditing, the definition of internal auditing, and international standards for the professional practice of internal auditing.
The GEA’s attainment of the certificate with its highest ratings is a result of the role played by the internal audit activity within GEA in enhancing governance, risk management, and control, which contributed to achieving efficiency in the field of internal auditing according to the highest international standards and practices.
