His Highness the Minister of Culture sponsors the Golden Pen Award for the Most Influential Literature.
In implementation of the Memorandum of Understanding signed between the Ministry of Culture and the General Entertainment Authority, and with the support of His Highness Prince Badr bin Abdullah bin Farhan Al Saud, Minister of Culture, and His Excellency Turki bin Abdulmohsen Alalshikh, Chairman of the General Entertainment Authority (GeA), a series of joint executive and planning projects were unveiled today. The announcement was made in the presence of His Excellency Hamed bin Mohammed Faiz, Deputy Minister of Culture, and Engineer Faisal Bafarat, CEO of the General Entertainment Authority. These projects will be executed according to four main tracks that align with the aspirations of Saudi Vision 2030 and its objectives related to enhancing the quality of life and developing human capabilities.
The first aims to enhance cooperation between the Film Commission and Riyadh Season’s strategic partner, Sela Company, with the goal of supporting producers working in the Al-Hosn Studios, one of the new zones of the season. This includes facilitating licensing procedures, providing access to the Film Commission’s Film Production Support Program, and establishing an office for the Commission within the studio premises.
The second focuses on the Ministry of Culture’s support for Riyadh Season by sponsoring the major fashion event “1000 Seasons and a Season,” which will be held in partnership with the renowned designer Elie Saab at THE VENUE, one of the new zones of the season, in November. Additionally, the Ministry, in collaboration with Riyadh Season, will sponsor the Christian Dior Museum, which will be hosted for the first time in the historical Al-Murabba district in Riyadh, following exhibitions in New York and Paris. The museum will showcase a collection of both classic and contemporary fashion in 14 different sections for fashion enthusiasts, and will also feature a Christian Dior gift shop and a Dior Café.
The third seeks to foster collaboration between the Ministry of Culture and the General Entertainment Authority to develop the Saudi oud manufacturing industry. This will be supported by Riyadh Season’s initiative to produce Saudi-made ouds, reflecting the joint efforts of both entities to promote musical arts and traditional crafts within the Kingdom.
The fourth focuses on strengthening the strategic partnership between the Music Commission and Merwas Studio, with the aim of establishing the studio as a global hub for music production and recording, fostering national musical talents, and attracting international talents.
On the sidelines of launching these projects, HE Turki bin Abdulmohsen Alalshikh, Chairman of the General Entertainment Authority, announced that His Highness Prince Badr bin Abdullah bin Farhan Al Saud, Minister of Culture, will sponsor the Golden Pen Award. This award is intended to transform the most influential literary works into cinematic productions.
