In a move towards enhancing the entertainment scene in Saudi Arabia, His Excellency Counselor Turki bin Abdulmohsen Alalsheikh, Chairman of the General Entertainment Authority (GEA), announced the GEA’s sponsorship of the “Comedy Factory” initiative. This initiative aims to discover and support young talents in the field of comedy and theater. Through this sponsorship, the GEA seeks to create a supportive environment that allows young talents to express their creativity and deliver distinctive comedic content that reflects the Saudi identity and addresses societal issues in a humorous manner.
The initiative provides a platform for Saudi youth to showcase their comedic talents and aims to foster creative capabilities in this field. It offers an opportunity for them to develop their skills under the guidance of specialists in the comedy art.
“Comedy Factory” is part of a series of initiatives organized by the General Entertainment Authority as part of its efforts to stimulate the entertainment sector.
The initiative includes workshops, training courses, and competitive events that aim to refine the talents of young individuals and prepare them for active participation in the entertainment industry. Leading the team behind the initiative is the Kuwaiti artist Dr. Hassan Al-Balam, accompanied by a group of esteemed theater artists and experts, namely Dr. Khaled Amin, Mr. Shaya Al-Shaya, and Mr. Hani Al-Nassar. As for theatrical writing, it is overseen by Dr. Ahmed Saqer and Mr. Mohammed Anwar.
