“Abadyat Night” saw a special honoring by the Chairman of the General Entertainment Authority (GEA), Turki bin Abdul Mohsen Al-Sheikh, of the artist Abadi Al-Johar at the concert performed on Abu Baker Salem Stage in Riyadh Boulevard Friday (January 3, 2020) evening.
Al-Sheikh said that he is proud to honor an artist such as Abadi Al-Johar. He also requested that he plays the song “Nalat ala Yadha” using oud only. Al-Johar highly appreciated GEA and its Chairman for the honor.
The artist started the night with the “Atshan” and “Ma’ad hu Bjai” songs. Then he was joined by Assala who performed “Addelhurouf” and “Oyoonak Akher Aamali” songs. After that, a short film about Abadi and oud was played after which he sung the “Ekhtafat” and “Aamak Sa’eed” songs. Then, the artist Rabeh Saqr appeared on the stage to sing the “Abad Ya’ni” and “Min Athabi” songs, which fired up the audience at “Abadyat Night”. Thereafter, a film titled “Abadi the Composer” was presented, which featured the artist and his music composition career that produced hard-to-forget works on both Saudi and Gulf fronts. Finally, Al-Johar concluded the concert by singing a number of his special songs including “Al-Mezhariah, Hebr wa Waraq and Nesai”.
It is noteworthy that over the past months the Saudi capital saw GEA’s honoring of many Saudi legends including HRH Prince Bader bin Abdulmohsen (Poetry Night), HRH Prince Abdulrahman bin Musaad (Poetry Night), the composer Sahm Night, the composer Yasser Bu Ali Night, the Artist of Arabs Mohammed Abdu, the artist Rashed Al-Majed and other exceptional nights for many creative Saudis.
