HE Turki Alalshikh, Chairman of the General Entertainment Authority (GEA), announced today (Friday) the longlist for the prestigious Golden Pen Award, dedicated to honoring the most impactful literary and artistic works in the Arab world.
The list features 47 works across several major categories. Leading the entries is the “Novel” category with 30 nominations, followed by the “Translated Novel” category with seven entries, and the “Screenplay” category with ten entries. The shortlist will be announced on December 30, following the close of submissions on September 30. Winners will be honored at a grand ceremony scheduled for February 2025, in the presence of leading writers, intellectuals, filmmakers, and stars from the industry.
The Golden Pen Award aims to celebrate the most influential literary works in the Arab world, supporting writers who enrich Arabic literature with their unique contributions. The award also seeks to elevate literary culture and encourage excellence and creativity in the world of writing.
