Today, the General Entertainment Authority (GEA) announced its activities for Saudi Arabia’s 93rd National Day in various regions of the Kingdom to embody manifestations of loyalty to the homeland, whose people celebrate their glorious past and their aspirations for a prosperous future.
The celebrations of the National Day, which comes this year under the slogan “We Dream and Achieve,” include a group of shows, the most prominent of which is the “We Race Dreams” show of military and civilian aircraft led by the Kingdom’s flag in the skies of Riyadh, Taif, Al-Baha, Asir, and Tabuk on September 23. This will be preceded by a similar display over the northern Jeddah Corniche on September 20, followed by another display over the Khobar Corniche on September 27.
Governmental and private entities are participating in the event, including the Saudi Royal Guard Command, the Ministry of Defence, the Ministry of Interior, the Ministry of National Guard, the Presidency of State Security, the General Authority of Civil Aviation, Matarat Holding Company, Saudi Air Navigation Services, Saudi Aviation Club, Saudia Airlines, Flynas, and the Saudi Broadcasting Corporation, which will broadcast the main show on National Day live on Al Saudiya Channel.
The celebrations also include a military parade extending more than a kilometer in which military units and vehicles led by horses participate, in addition to music bands from the Royal Guard Command, the Ministry of the National Guard, and the General Directorate of Border Guard. This will constitute an opportunity to remember the nation’s achievements during the previous decades.
The Ministry of Interior is participating in the celebrations by organizing the “Pride of the Nation 2” event after the success of the event last year. Visitors will learn about the ministry’s efforts in building its security system, developing its capabilities and services, and reviewing national achievements at the security level. The event continues for 4 days from 21 to 24 September in Riyadh Front.
National Day celebrations also include many concerts. On September 22, a concert by the “Artist of the Arabs” Mohammed Abdu will be held at Jeddah Super Dome Theater, and in Riyadh, the Series Songs concert, led by Maestro Khaled Nouri, will be held at the Abu Bakr Salem Theater in Boulevard Riyadh City. On September 23, the Majid Al-Muhandis’ concert will be held in Dammam at the Fairgrounds Theater in Dhahran. “The Band Plays and the Audience Sings” concert will also be held, led by Maestro Mustafa Helmy, at Princess Noura University in Riyadh. On September 24, Rabeh Saqr’s concert will be held at Prince Sultan Cultural Center Theater in Tabuk.
For its part, GEA organizes firework displays that will illuminate the Kingdom’s skies in more than 15 different locations. The viewing areas are distributed between Boulevard Riyadh City, Jeddah Promenade, King Abdullah Park in Dammam, the Northern Khobar Corniche, King Abdullah Environmental Park in Al-Ahsa, and King Abdullah National Park in Buraidah.
Fireworks can also be watched in Abha from Al Sadd Park on Al Fan Street, in Madinah from King Fahd Central Park, in Hail from Al Salam Park, in Tabuk from Al Nazim Central Park, in Al Baha from Prince Hossam Park, in Sakaka from Amanat Al Jouf Park, in Jazan from the Corniche Road walkway, in Najran from the University District Housing Park, in Taif near King Abdullah Park, and in Arar from the Water Tower.
In a special event this year, drone shows will be held in the skies of Riyadh, near the Boulevard Riyadh City, at 9 p.m., September 23. National images will be formed on this occasion, topped with a picture of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman bin Abdulaziz, a picture of the Crown Prince, Prime Minister Prince Mohammed bin Salman, and the Kingdom’s flag.
