In the first half of 2023, the General Entertainment Authority (GEA) licensed 2,736 events, including 898 entertainment events and more than 602 entertainment shows. Restaurants and cafes also hosted 896 performances in various cities and governorates, contributing to a 35% increase in licenses compared to the same period last year.
During the first six months of 2023, there were 57 licenses issued to entertainment centers, 92 for crowd management, and 67 for management and development of artistic talent, which led to an increase in the pace of entertainment events throughout the kingdom.
Among the GEA achievements, 93 licenses were granted to operate entertainment facilities, 29 licenses to sell tickets for entertainment activities and 2 licenses for amusement parks.
GEA provided the opportunity to issue licenses and permits for entertainment events and shows, as well as various facilities to develop new concepts of well-being and happiness, through a range of entertainment programs and initiatives covering various artistic and sporting interests and areas of gaming and shopping, within an integrated lifestyle that has made the Kingdom a global destination capable of attracting fans of entertainment and special events.
