The “Riyadh Winter Baloot” Championship is concluding tomorrow.
The championship is being held under the direction of Chairman of the General Entertainment Authority (GEA) HE Turki bin Abdul Mohsen Al-Sheikh at Riyadh Front under the supervision of GEA and organized by the Saudi Federation for Electronic and Intellectual Sports (SAFEIS). A total prize money of Saudi Riyal 2 million (USD532,360) will be distributed among the eight winning teams in the presence of GEA and SAFEIS officials.
The final day of the championship will see the competition of four teams that qualified during the finals, which extended over Thursday and Friday, based on the points system.
The preliminary qualification included eight teams divided into two groups, four teams in each group, out of which two teams from each group will qualify for the finals. The first team of each group will face the second from the other group in the scissor method. Then, the winners will encounter each other in a final match. The losing teams, however, will have a match to determine the third and fourth place winners.
The team winning the first place will receive a prize of SAR750,000 (USD199,635) and a luxury car provided by Seven Lounge, the team on second place will receive SAR500,000 (USD133,090), the team placed third will get SAR250,000 (USD66,545), and the teams winning the fourth through eighth places will receive SAR100,000 (USD26,618).
It should be noted that the preliminary round competitions finished last Sunday with 16 qualified competitors (eight teams) out of 16,000 male and female participants who competed in a large number of matches.
